Course Descriptions

Managing aggressive patients

In a nutshell

The status of patient and the hospital remind us that we evolve in a protected environment where violence should not exist (sic). This training course offers tools for working under constraint, while maintaining the patient-caregiver relationship and its humanity.

Presentation

Suffering, waiting, pathology, fear… all stressful factors that can lead to hostile or even violent behavior towards medical staff.

Faced with a steady increase in assaults perpetrated directly by patients and their families, certain departments (notably emergency triage, psychiatry, drug addiction and geriatrics!) have decided to tackle this problem with all the determination necessary.

We are proposing a rapid transformation to medical and hospital staff to deal with excesses in a special, ultra-normalised setting where firmness goes hand in hand with humanity.
