- Critical zone: 0-1m
- Danger zone: 1-2m
- Warning zone: 2-3m
- Surveillance zone: 3m+.
- Evacuation zone: 5m+.
Please note: hand-to-hand techniques, whatever their names, allow you to regain an advantage in the critical 0-1m distance. The attacker develops less power, while you become more “incisive”.

Level 1: De-escalation
- Take a step back

- Find an escape route
